Atlanta Restaurants Taking Their Show on the (Virtual) Road

Amber RandhawaWhat's Happening Around Atlanta

Restaurants and bars around Atlanta may be closed to dine in patrons, but you can still catch some of your favorite chefs and bartenders in the act of preparing delicious meals and drinks. Online you can find many of Atlanta’s best dining and drinking destinations hosting digital cooking classes and wine tastings, cocktail demonstrations, and explanations and breakdowns of some of their most popular recipes. So even though you can’t visit your favorite restaurant in person, you spend some time with an online chef class instead! Many of the recipes you’ll see in these virtual sessions feature items most of us have around our kitchen anyway, or they are easy to find at your local market when you make your trek out for essentials.

Eater Atlanta has compiled a list of some of these online classes and demonstrations. Many can be found on YouTube, Zoom, or Instagram live. Click here to read their full article, and we’ve listed some of them here:

Quarantine Cafe

Hosted by Chef Jeffrey Gardner of South City Kitchen Midtown and Alma Cocina, Quarantine Cafe features the chef in his home kitchen, with recipes and cooking demonstrations of meals you can easily whip up yourself using items that can be found in your pantry or local market.

Sippin’ at Home

Mercedes O’Brien, beverage director at Cold Beer and Gunshow, is your host on Instagram for this cocktail series. She’ll teach you how to make various cocktails using ingredients you already have on hand in your bar or pantry, or sometimes, fresh from your garden!

Wahoo Wine & Provisions Virtual Wine Tasting

Wahoo Wine & Provisions, located next door to sister restaurant Wahoo Grill, hosts virtual wine tastings every Thursday evening at 7pm via Zoom and Instagram live. You can still pick up the wines at the shop in Decatur, or just watch to learn more about the wonderful world of wine.
