Alpaca Treehouse

One of two actual treehouses on the list, with both having been featured featured on Treehouse Masters’ “Ultimate Treehouses” with Pete Nelson, the Alpaca Treehouse is a favorite rental on Airbnb.  The treehouse has played the backdrop in numerous TV shows and music videos, and while the listing mentions only sleeping six guests, it has been known to accommodate intimate weddings. As the name suggests, there are a couple of adorable alpacas on the property, as well as a few llamas grazing about. Roosters, chickens, and ducks round out the menagerie on this working farm in East Atlanta.

Atlanta’s Not-So-Secret Treehouse

Not only is this listing one of the most popular in Atlanta, this treehouse is also one of the highest rated Airbnb properties in the entire country. Located in the Collier Hills neighborhood, it can accommodate two guests and is the other property on the list to have been featured on Treehouse Masters’ “Ultimate Treehouses.” There are three separate rooms connected by rope bridges – a sitting room, a bedroom, and a hammock deck. The bathroom is in the basement of the owners’ private home, located a quick 30-second walk away from the treehouses, and while the appearance of the treehouse setting may look remote and secluded, you’re still in the middle of Atlanta, with all the conveniences, and sounds an urban center has to offer.

Cipresso Castle

For larger groups, the Cipresso Castle is a luxury rental, with a magnificent Tudor-style mansion located on 4 secluded acres in Decatur. The property is fenced and gated and includes 5,000 feet of living space on a lake. The rental is used for weddings and retreats, but you can book it for any large family reunion or gathering, as it sleeps up to 16 people, or more for additional fees.

Intown Emu Ranch

Two acres of gardens, water features, patios and decks set the stage for this 100 year old home in East Atlanta. Of course you will see emus, but there are also peacocks, parrots and chickens who call the property home. Your stay also includes use of a restored antique hippo paddle boat for use on the home’s ponds and water features. A greenhouse with exotic plants, lizards and turtles is also housed on site and open for visitors.

Modern Glass Treehouse

Visitors report that staying in this urban oasis near Zoo Atlanta makes you feel “like you are swimming in the trees.” The rooms aren’t just walls of windows – they have glass ceilings as well so you can look up into the trees from every room in the house, and four terraces send you directly into the trees. You can rent each of the two levels of this unique steel structure separately for an intimate stay, or the entire property can be rented together.

Modern Tiny House

What better way to learn more about the tiny house revolution than to spend the night or weekend in one? Situated in the Edgewood neighborhood close to many restaurants and shops, this house may look tiny, but it actually comes equipped with two bedrooms and one bathroom and can accommodate up to four people. There is a full kitchen and a huge, private fenced backyard with a farm table, a ping pong table, and fire pit.
