Brookhaven GA Real Estate
Located just northeast of Atlanta in DeKalb County, Brookhaven is a vibrant mix of stately homes and new village centers, nestled around the historic Oglethorpe University campus. Originally developed in the early 1900s around the Capital City Club as an upscale golf community, the town has grown to include many newer residential neighborhoods and the Town Brookhaven mixed-use development. The area is served by two elementary schools, Montgomery and Ashford Park, along with Chamblee Middle School and Chamblee High School. Charter and private school options also abound, including the award-winning Marist School.
Brookhaven’s greenspace includes the 18-acre Briarwood Park along the southern boundary, featuring walking trails, swimming pool and splashpad, and an indoor gym and recreation center. The more expansive 135-acre Murphy Candler Park to the north is Brookhaven’s largest park, with multi-use athletic fields, a swimming pool, playground and a stocked lake for fishing. Many youth sports leagues call Murphy Candler Park home. Youngsters will also enjoy the cozy Ashford Park featuring sandpits, slides and climbing areas, and the furrier kids will love the off-leash areas of Skyland Park.

For weekend fun, the LEGOLand Discovery Center is located just southwest, with toy displays, rides, a 4D theater and LEGO gift shop. You can also explore the gothic architecture found on the historic campus of Oglethorpe University, and check out Oglethorpe’s Museum of Art, featuring three year-round exhibits and smaller rotating installations. Brookhaven allows for easy access to the Buford Highway international corridor, a global gourmet’s dream! Brookhaven’s location is just east of Buckhead which is now known as Buckhead the financial hub due to high-rise office buildings and high-end shopping. Nicholas was introduced to me by my builder as someone who could help me find a lot for a new construction home.Nicholas did a fantastic job and helped us secure an awesome lot for our build.There are a few things that really set Nicholas apart:1) He really knows the geography and the technical aspects of lot selection. We were looking around Chastain and he could tell me which lots have issues with drainage because of the water flow around the hills, and which lots would cause issues with house placement, etc. He was very familiar with the building code, set backs, etc. and the implications of those for whether it would support our plan.2) He understands the market and could advise us on how to build in a way that would create value. He was able to credibly advise on house valuations in the area and channel that insight into how much to spend on the lot. He was also able to leverage this insight to advise us on how to spec out the house in a way that would optimize equity creation (I.e. what upgrades add to the valuation and which do not).3) He was very helpful in counseling me through getting to the right offer to close the deal at a valuation that made sense.4) He is super responsive, professional and a pleasure to work with. He also sent my wife some flowers when our son was born which is indicative of his strong emphasis on customer relationships and class.I look forward to working with him again.
