What’s Going on (Virtually) Around Atlanta

Amber RandhawaWhat's Happening Around Atlanta

During any normal week, we would send out a few alerts to you about great events coming up across the city, or fun things to do during the upcoming weekend. But now, in the midst of social distancing due to COVID-19, events are cancelled, venues are shuttered and we are all doing our best to stay home and away from others. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do though! Some of Atlanta’s most beloved attractions are available for virtual visits, and there are live concerts and lectures going on throughout each day.

Thanks to the folks at Curbed magazine, you now have a handy to-do list of all the places around town you can visit online. Click here to read the full Curbed article, but we have also selected a few to tell you about now:

Georgia Aquarium

While the aquarium is closed to the public, you can still check in with the animals via the facility’s network of webcams here. There are also daily and weekly events that are live-streamed, and videos to use for kids’ science lessons.

Center for Puppetry Arts

While closed due to the Coronavirus, the Center for Puppetry Arts is hosting puppet shows and workshops that you can enjoy from home. All events stream daily on their Facebook page.

Georgia State Parks

Georgia’s State Parks are hosting an eRanger program, which includes live ranger chats, virtual field trips, and other activities.

High Museum of Art

The museum is closed to the public through at least April 14th, but they are making their collection available online, along with hosting virtual events and special learning activities.
