Here are three simple facts why May is the BEST month to list your home for sale:
#1 – More homes are shown in the month of May than any other month of the year.
Why, you ask? While we may not be able to answer that question for certain, there are a few factors that might contribute to the increase at this time of the year… school is coming to a close for the year, the weather is better and people are willing to travel from home to home looking for that perfect gem, and general mood is increased with the onset of sunnier, longer days.
#2 – The month of May brings, on average, the highest sales prices of the year.
Whoa! That’s reason enough to list your home in May! We don’t know anyone that isn’t interested in getting top dollar for their investment in the sale of their home.
#3 – More homebuyers enter the market in search of their next dream home during the month of May, than any other month of the year.
That is good news for home sellers! More homebuyers means a higher potential that your home will not only be seen, but will be desired by more people, in a faster amount of time. Perhaps it goes back to our assumptions made earlier in this article.
