Now that the temperatures in Atlanta have finally started to hang out under 90 degrees we know that fall is right around the corner. Before you know it, the pumpkin patches will be open, football season will be in full swing, and it will be time for one of our favorite fall festival themes – Oktoberfest!  We’ve compiled a list of some of the local and regional celebrations in or near Atlanta, so go ahead and put some of these fun events on your calendar!


Der Biergarten Oktoberfest 5K and Party

Atlanta’s authentic German Biergarten gets in on the action with 18 different German beers, live music and German food at their “Munich on Marietta” event! The celebration kicks off with a 5K race through the downtown streets.

Helen Oktoberfest

Now in its 49th year, Helen’s Oktoberfest spans almost two full months throughout September and October, with the entire town joining in the celebration! The main event takes place in the Helen Festhalle though, with German music and dancing and traditional German food and beer.

Oktoberfest Atlanta

Oktoberfest Atlanta is our city’s largest Oktoberfest event.  You’ll enjoy plenty of German beer and food, live music, along with fun German-themed games like the Pretzel Toss and Stein Hoisting Contest and even a dog parade!

When: Friday, October 11th, 5pm – 11pm and Saturday, October 12th, 11am – 11pm

River Street Oktoberfest

Savannah’s River Street Oktoberfest is a three day festival held on historic River Street overlooking the Savannah River and featuring German beer, food and entertainment. Perhaps the highlight of the festival is the world famous Wiener Dog Races!

Trinity Lutheran Church Oktoberfest – Lilburn

Live music, German dancing, games and crafts are are the focus of this annual festival, and of course, plenty of authentic German food and beer! This festival has been going on for 17 years, and this year’s highlight is the 22-piece Classic City German Polka Band!
