Fourth of July Festivities Around Atlanta

Amber RandhawaWhat's Happening Around Atlanta

One year after many of the metro Atlanta area’s Fourth of July events went on hiatus due to the Coronavirus pandemic, towns and cities throughout the region are reopening and planning fun-filled celebrations. Whether you are looking for a parade featuring local first responder heroes, delicious food from neighborhood restaurants and food trucks, or just a fantastic and magical fireworks display, you’ll have many options to choose from throughout the city. A few of the usual celebrations are still cancelled, or at least modified, so check out the festival websites for more information about which parts of the celebrations will still be occurring and what may be missing again this year. Many events will be operating in much the same way as prior years though, so get ready for a full weekend of patriotic family fun!

We realize not everyone is comfortable attending large-scale events just yet, and will instead be celebrating in smaller family groups at home. The fireworks vendors know this too, and have popped their tents up in parking lots and street corners all over town, so you’ll be able to attend your own private fireworks display in the comfort of your backyard. If you choose to go this route, be sure to follow all safety precautions and avoid mixing fireworks with alcohol consumption. You can also view your fireworks online, as many locations will be live streaming their events so you can enjoy the show from the comfort and safety of home.

Residents are invited to enjoy the display while remaining safely socially distanced.
