The real estate market has changed a bit during the Coronavirus pandemic, and in many cities, Atlanta included, sales have slowed somewhat. In good news for sellers however, home prices have continued their steady rise. Even so, the personal finance website WalletHub has found that Atlanta still ranks among the best locations for first time home buyers.

To determine what locations came out on top, 300 cities were compared across 26 metrics, such as home affordability, school ratings and quality of life. In the end, the study found Atlanta to be the sixth best large city for those looking to purchase their first home.

Many factors are going into the decisions potential first time home buyers must make when it comes to taking the leap into home ownership. “While many people have been financially hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic, mortgage interest rates have also hit record lows,” according to WalletHub’s report. Those low rates are hard to resist, even with the current circumstances faced due to Coronavirus issues.
