Long recognized as a favorite in-town neighborhood, Brookhaven became an independent city in 2012, and has seen continued popularity as both a place to live and a destination for dining and outdoor activities. Despite being so close to downtown Atlanta, Brookhaven boasts plentiful greenspace, from pocket parks to the Ashford Forest Preserve, an old-growth forest with natural springs and wetlands.

A highlight of the Brookhaven area is the portion of Buford Highway that lies in its boundaries, where you can find the cuisine of more than 21 different nations.
